Hitachi’s Specialized Machines Highlighted at Bauma

Hitachi will showcase a diverse range of specialized machines at their booth during Bauma in April. In collaboration with KTEG, Hitachi Europe will present six excavators tailored for specific tasks such as demolition, dredging, and underground excavation.

One of the featured models, the ZX350-7 with a telescopic arm, is supplied by Hitachi in Japan. It boasts a 30-meter reach, making it perfect for moving materials from deep excavations. Enhanced hydraulics ensure smooth and efficient operation, boosting productivity in complex urban excavation projects.

The telescopic arm provides rapid extension and retraction, coupled with strong traction, enabling effective work in tight spaces. Unlike standard long-reach excavators, it requires minimal swing space, making it ideal for compact areas.

The ZX250LC-7 with a super long front (SLF) is assembled at Hitachi’s Amsterdam factory. Designed for dredging, loading, and slope finishing, its boom and arm combine strength and flexibility, extending the working range to 18 meters.

Four additional specialized machines are produced in Germany by KTEG, a joint venture between Hitachi and the German dealer Kiesel Technology. These include the KTEG390HR, based on a Hitachi ZX350, featuring a hydraulically extendable undercarriage, extra counterweight, and a tiltable demolition cab. The fixed boom with a 23-meter reach supports tools weighing up to 3.5 tons, making it a productive and safe demolition machine.

The largest specialized machine is the 180-ton KMC1200S, a World Demolition Award winner. Ideal for large and challenging projects like power plant demolition, it offers optimal productivity with maximum tool weight at various heights, such as 3 tons at 51 meters, 5 tons at 44 meters, or 15 tons at 28 meters. Its new main frame and slewing ring provide a robust design for durability and reliability.

Additionally, the KTEG 490 2PB will be showcased at Bauma. This machine, part of the 55-ton class, features an extended working range thanks to its two-piece boom configuration. Combined with the reliable and powerful Hitachi base machine, the KTEG 490 delivers strong and safe performance.
