Liebherr Introduces New Operator’s Cab – emCAB

Liebherr has announced the launch of a new operator’s cab, the emCAB, developed with a strong focus on user experience and modern standards. Designed in collaboration with machine operators, the emCAB is intended to offer improved visibility, comfort, and functionality compared to previous models.
The new cab features a completely redesigned ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) construction. Among the key updates are a 10-inch driver display integrated with Liebherr’s intuitive INTUSI user interface, a 50 mm increase in cab length, and 25% larger glass surfaces for enhanced visibility. Structural adjustments, such as 35% slimmer A-pillars and a 100 mm lower and thinner front window edge, further aim to improve the operator’s field of view.

Climate control has also been enhanced, with a 25% stronger HVAC system. Additional convenience features include a built-in refrigerator, an air-conditioned cup holder, storage compartments for devices and documents, multiple USB outlets, and keyless entry via a SmartKey system.
Other notable updates are a new slimline steering column without an indicator lever, parallel windshield wipers for improved upper visibility, a redesigned pedal layout with rubber coverings, and stronger work lighting. The cab also features a four-piece floor mat for easier cleaning, shoe storage, and hooks for personal protective equipment such as helmets and jackets.

The emCAB will be gradually introduced across all Liebherr wheeled and crawler excavators. Production for wheeled excavators is scheduled to begin in 2026, with crawler excavators following in 2027. At present, models A909C G8, A911C G8, and A918C G8 can be ordered with the new cab.
According to Liebherr, the emCAB is intended to establish new standards for operator comfort, ergonomics, and machine safety.
