Develon Unveils DX25Z-7: Punchy Performance in a Zero-Tail-Swing Mini-Excavator

Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has unveiled its latest addition to the mini-excavator lineup: the DX25Z-7, a compact workhorse designed for tight urban jobs and rental fleets.

The DX25Z-7 tips the scales at 2,691 kg and is powered by a Kubota D1305 Stage V diesel engine that delivers 18.5 kW (25 hp) at 2,600 rpm, striking a balance between punchy performance and fuel efficiency.

Thanks to its zero-tail-swing design and sub-3.5 tonne transport weight, the new mini-excavator can be easily towed on a standard trailer—fully equipped with buckets and even a hydraulic breaker—making it a natural fit for rental yards and self-drive hire businesses.

Despite its compact footprint, the DX25Z-7 doesn’t skimp on durability or comfort. A heavy-duty counterweight enhances stability, while the ROPS/TOPS/FOPS-certified cab features a heated suspension seat, 5-inch digital display, Bluetooth radio, and ESL anti-theft technology for peace of mind on busy sites. High-efficiency hydraulics offer smooth, proportional control with selectable flow modes and optional quick-coupler piping to suit any attachment requirement.

In tandem with the DX25Z-7 launch, Develon has introduced an enhanced DX27Z-7 model weighing in at 2.8 tonnes, powered by a Kubota V1505 Stage V engine (18.5 kW/25 hp at 2,300 rpm). This upgraded sibling boasts an enlarged cab entry, thumb-wheel auxiliary control, improved visibility (including around-view cameras), and better service access, ensuring both operators and technicians can work smarter—and more comfortably—throughout the day.

“With the DX25Z-7, we’re giving customers a highly transportable yet robust machine that excels in confined spaces,” said Ohjong Choi, Head of Product Management at Develon Europe. “It’s a smart, cost-efficient solution for rental fleets and self-drive hire, offering reliable Develon performance while keeping under the 3.5 tonne transport limit.”

Both new models reinforce Develon’s commitment to durability, operator comfort, and low total cost of ownership, making them excellent choices for contractors, landscapers, and rental companies alike.
