The first skip-change system for wheel dumpers — a smart breakthrough by Wacker Neuson

Imagine a dumper that can magically transform — from hauling gravel to carrying pallets — with just a few simple moves. That’s exactly what Wacker Neuson’s brand-new skip-change system promises. Launched for the dual-view dumper model DV60, this innovation turns a traditional wheel dumper into a true all-rounder.
What’s new: one dumper, two skips, endless possibilities
- For the first time globally, a dumper’s skip can be swapped easily by just one person, without tools — in just a few minutes.
- Depending on what you need to transport — bulk materials, equipment, or palletized goods — you can choose between different skip variants. Whether you need a classic tipping skip or a three-way tip platform with foldable side walls, the dumper adapts to the job.
- For busy worksites, that translates into fewer machines needed, more efficient use, and a much more flexible fleet.

How it works — simple, safe and intuitive
- The skip can be detached and reattached conveniently: all controls for the change are placed on the outside of the machine, at operating height.
- Once attached, the dumper is operated like any conventional wheel dumper — from the cabin, using joysticks. No new training needed.
- A sensor system monitors the coupling: if the skip is not fully attached, the dumper warns the operator and limits its functions — minimizing the risk of accidents.

Why it matters: flexibility, efficiency and cost savings
- Maximized machine utilization — with one dumper you can tackle a variety of transport tasks. That reduces the need for multiple specialized vehicles.
- Lower operational and maintenance costs — fewer machines require less maintenance, take up less space, and don’t tie up as much capital.
- Better productivity and job site safety — swift skip changes mean less downtime, and the intuitive coupling system improves safety.
Real-world benefit: a dumper that replaces a truck on site
Thanks to the skip-change system, the DV60 dumper can now handle bulk materials and heavy palletized goods (up to four standard euro pallets at once). That makes it a credible alternative to a dedicated transport truck — especially on larger construction sites where flexibility and space are at a premium.
Wacker Neuson’s new skip-change system may seem like a small mechanical tweak — but it rethinks what a dumper can do. By combining the simplicity of swap-and-go with the robustness and versatility of a heavy-duty machine, they’ve given contractors something more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective.
